How versioning works

Major versions (v1.0, v2.0) mark structural change: a role added or removed, or a real revision to the architecture. Minor versions (v1.1, v1.2) roll as entries are added or revised. Material corrections, anything that changes what a published page claims, are recorded here rather than silently patched. See the errata page for how to report one.

v1.1 · June 2026

The Green Desert Effect, second pass (2026-06-10). Revision following an independent review:

  • Citation corrections, recorded per the corrections policy: The Brilliance Breakthrough is 1994 (Instant Learning), not 1980; the Bai et al. 2025 article number is Nature Communications 16, 6037; Meister et al. "Locally typical sampling" is 2023 (TACL 11); Breakthrough Advertising was originally published by Prentice-Hall.
  • The Bender et al. (2021) citation was repointed to what the paper argues (form without communicative intent), with Zhang et al. (2025) on typicality bias carrying the smoothing claim.
  • Each of the nine functional roles gained a documented historical specimen.
  • Two new figures: Fig 5 (the diagnosis, operationally) and Fig 6 (the prediction fork); the essay now carries nine figures.

Site. Light and dark reading modes on all public pages. Methodology rewritten criteria-first, documenting the inclusion gates, example selection rubric, verification loop, and the role of AI in production. New reference pages: /cite, /errata, /use-policy, and this changelog.
